Veterans Services

Qualifications:

   -   A Veteran of any age

   -   Enrolled in the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center

   -   In need of nursing facility level of care

   -   Living in the community in one of these 11 counties: Lac qui Parle, Yellow Medicine, Lyon, Lincoln,

       Pipestone, Murray, Cottonwood, Rock, Nobles, Jackson, or Martin

 

This program gives you flexibility, choice, control and responsibility.  You are in control of your services: you decide what help you need, when you need it and who provides it.  You can hire people that you know—such as family and friends—to provide your care.

 

This program is the result of partnership between the Veterans Health Administration and the Minnesota Board on Aging.  MRCI is one of the two Fiscal Support Entities in the State of Minnesota that is approved to assist the Veterans with the financial details of this service.

 

What MRCI does, as a Fiscal Support Entity for Veterans enrolled in VD-HCBS:

 

     -  Issues payroll checks to those individuals you hire to provide your care

     -  Withholds and files payroll taxes in accordance with IRS guidelines

     -  Provides Workers’ Compensation and unemployment insurance

     -  Supports you in your relationship with your employee

     -  Helps you with the financial details of your VD-HCBS budget

     -  Makes payments on your behalf for goods and services
