  • MRCI to Host Greater Mankato Growth on March 21

MRCI WorkSource will host Greater Mankato Growth - the chamber of commerce and economic development organization in Mankato - from 7am to 9am at the Map Drive Facility during a Business Before Hours event on March 21.

Personal Options Day Services (PODS) combines all the services of supported employment, the Living Skills program, and Magnifying Abilities (recreation and leisure opportunities).  Through the use of flexible funding streams, a participant with a disability and his or her interdisciplinary team selects program options from a menu of choices to develop an individualized plan.  Employment, recreation and education are all made available to each participant so that they can select a full day or week of activity.

Employment options include Community-Based Employment in single sites or in small groups (enclaves) or center based employment.  Volunteer and entrepreneurial endeavors are also available.  Other services include job coaching, job placement, and vocational evaluation.  Education enables the members to identify and use community resources by becoming involved with project-based learning and real situations in the community.  Participants also have the choice of group or individualized recreational activities throughout the community.
